A Special Flite Nite with Portugal's Esporao Winery, Wednesday May 9, 6-8pm
Pedro Lopes Vieira from Esporao Winery in Portugal will be our special guest on Wednesday, May 9 for a tasting of 4 wines from one of our absolute favorite producers! Esporao is a family owned and operated winery focused on growing and preserving Portugal’s indigenous grape varieties, a precious national resource and a treasure trove of discovery for the adventurous wine drinker.  Touriga Nacional, Aragonês, Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, Arinto, Roupeiro and Antão Vaz are the primary grapes for both red and white wine blends but, in fact, the vineyards contain more than 40 varieties, most of them indigenous.  We'll be tasting quite a few of these varieties on Wednesday and these old world wines with new world flair are sure to please!   No reservations required, just pull up a seat at the bar and pick up your boarding pass!  $10, 4 wines, 6-8pm.

A Stunner of a Free Friday! May 11, 6 to 8pm
Our Friday Free for Alls are back with a vengence as Beth Kehn pours four terrific wines from the west coast including the 2008 Conn Creek Cabernet, $23.99 and the 2006 Northstar Stella Maris, $22.99, a great little Pinot Noir rosé plus the crisp and refreshing Hanna Sauvignon Blanc.  And Chef Richard is back with some mouthwatering tapas items!  This is a free event, no reservations required!

Wednesday Nite Flites, Wild About Rosé Tasting Series Part II, May 16, 6 to 8pm
Rosato d'Italia! Join myself, Mike Fabianski and Sommelier Kimi Kiviranna for a special Wild About Rosé Flite Nite! The second in a three part series offered this summer, tonight's flite will feature 6 great wines from Italy.  Flites are $15 for 6-2oz pours of really amazing juice.  Due to the popularity of this event, we will take reservations for a 6pm or 7pm seating and accepts walk-ins as spacing permits, but we sold out last time so if you really want to come you should reserve a spot! I'll post our selections for the flite on our Facebook page on Wednesday.

Free Friday, May 18th, 6-8pm
George Brown from Vino Wholesale joins us with four great wines from Spain, plus Tapas by Chef Richard Papier! This is a free event, no reservations required!

Antonio's Italy, May 26-June 2.  We'll be travelling through Tuscany with Antonio and blogging about our experiences!  But don't worry Kimi, Matt, Mike and Brenda will be minding the shop so we will still be open for business.

Special Event!  Tuesday Tasting w/Winemaker Megan McGrath of Lucas &

Lewellen, June 5, 6-8pm
Meet and taste with 8th generation winemaker Megan McGrath from Lucas & Lewellyn!  Before taking the reins from Daniel Gehrs at Lucas & Lewellen in 2007, Megan was the enologist for Flowers winery and also made wine under the Cahill label.  Louis Lucas, the founder of the winery, is an orginal pioneer of the central coast wine region as he was one of the first commercial wine grape growers in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties in the 1970's.  They are known for their Pinot Noirs, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Cabernet, all of which we will tasting with Megan, as well their 100% Cabernet Franc.  Don't miss this great opportunity to meet with one of the up and coming, young, female California winemakers and taste some really great wines!  More info TBA, but mark the date!
